Annotation It is shown that the quantum yield of photodissociation of resazurin in the quasi-equilibrium processes of the excitation relaxation increases with decreasing temperature. Photochemical activity of resazurin absents when  > 330 nm = kr, and abruptly increases when  ≤ kr and is practically independent of wavelength. Theoretical calculations satisfactorily describe the experimental results obtained under the assumption that the rate constant for the radiationless transitions between quasi-electron states is described by the formula kmn  k0exp(– bEmn/kT), and the value of b = 0,1.
