Annotation The paper deals with gold films structure and optical properties changes. It is experimentally shown that the surface structure changes are reliably detected by the multiangular Mueller polarimetry method. The influence of the gold film surface on the anisotropic medium model parameters is discussed. It is shown that for reliable films classification it is sufficient to measure parameters of the anisotropic medium at an angle at which the difference in the anisotropy parameters is maximized.
